My Favorite Celebrity Nail Polish Addict..

such a beauty..inside and out

And quite possibly one of my favorite people in the world...ever, is the beautiful and talented Sia. I LOVE her music and her! If you ever get the chance to see her live DO IT! Her voice is perfect and she knows how to work a crowd.  And what makes her even more fabulous is she is also addicted to nail polish!
I saw a  video  of her and she has tons of it. I also read it in an interview somewhere as well. ( yes I totally Cyberstalked her..don't judge me) I would love for Sia to paint my nails..I bet she would do a crazy, colorful funky design, It would be something that I wouldn't change for a while.

can't really see it to well but its colorful! and I like that. :)

TOKIDOKI!! Most Adorable Makeup Brand on the planet!

Okay..so you know I love nail polish and makeup and all of that good stuff but what you don't know about  is my love for cartoons.. I am 27 years old and I still love watching, and drawing cartoons. I am really just a big kid. I think that is why I HAD to buy this tokidoki Palette (25$ at Sephora) . I didn't even test it..I thought of it as more of a collectible then something I would actually use. I know I am not the only one out there that has purchased something for this reason ha ha.

                                              *tokidoki Adios Palette*
Palette cube in its packaging. It's so fun and cute..I can't handle it..Why didn't I buy the rest?? gah!

Palette Cube.

Candy Cane//Carina
Adios//Malandrino

Opened up...

And it comes with a KEYCHAIN?!?! WHAT??! amazing..yes I was this excited in the store ha ha. It doesn't take much to get me  squealing with excitement..especially when I am in Sephora.

The Makeup portion of it isn't bad at all..I have only tried the lighter ones. I think I used them as a highlight a few times..Adios is you basic matte Black.  Candy Cane is a pearly white shimmer  and Carina is a grayish white with lots of glitter. This is the very first time putting Malandrino on my skin and I actually am kind of digging it..Its a nice grey with a hint of Blue. I think I am going to have actually USE this ha ha.
Thanks for checking out my habit..I mean Hobby :)

Best Of 2010..Nails

Hello friends! In this post I am sharing with you one of my favorite Konad Manicures of the year. I actually only started Konading in the middle of October and this was the third design/color combination  I tried and I fell in love with it. I also got  a lot of compliments on this manicure as well, so I kept this one for 4 or 5 days. That is a LONG time for me!
Base color is TWO coats of China Glaze Grape Pop one of my favorite buys of the year, its a dark creme purple. the Flowers are  China Glaze White On White.

The design comes from Konad plate m73.  The detail of this design is so pretty. It's just very dainty and delicate..thats why I like to use a Darker Purple with it to kind of balance the softness of the little flowers and vines.

One of my favorite Manicures of 2010! This beauty will definitely be making an appearance in the New Year..For sure!! What do you guys think? What color combinations do you think would go good with this pretty design? Thanks for reading and following if you have!

BEST OF 2010..Hair Product

Moroccan Oil

I discovered this amazing product this summer and I use it every time I wash my hair.  It smells so good
and adds extra shine to my hair. It doesn't weigh it down like some Products do. It keeps it soft and bouncy. HOWEVER..it is VERY expensive..I don't use a lot of it. My hair is thick so I use about a nickel size each time I wash my hair. I got this bottle in June and I still have tons. Keep in mind  I am a Halfrican-American..So it works well for MY hair type. I don't know how it will work for others. I also use a bit on my little ones hair too (she's also mixed) and she has beautiful curls all over.

brings out my natural highlights...ha ha I don't know.

My hurrrrr!

I will be buying this product again once I run out..I also want to try some of the other products that the brand carries!

Christmas Manicure!

Hey loves! Here is The Manicure that I did for all of my Christmas Celebrations the next few days. It's very similar to the previous Festive Holiday Manicure, except with this one there are  few new faces! This time I did the designs with Acrylic Paint...DUH! Why didn't I think of that before! It dries SOO fast and it is a lot easier to mix them. I paint a lot so I have a decent eye for mixing the paints. Another reason for using acrylic paint is it is super inexpensive and I am not wasting all of my nail Polish! Check it out dolls!

Rudolph and The Penguin wearing a Santa hat are the new additions.. So cute and fun!

All China Glaze polishes for the bases of the designs..L-R..Ruby Pumps...For Audrey..White On White..Devotion...and on the Thumb my base is Cheers To You

Christmas Tree and lil Penguin! I  was originally going to do christmas lights instead of the Penguin but I wanted to add another animal and I am glad I did.. he turned out great. I thought it was going to be really difficult to put something new on the smallest nail but it was easy peasy!

This didn't take me as long as the first time..and I think I did a bit better. I put a clear base coat down and then my color base..let that dry..painted the designs which pretty much dry instantly and then TWO coats of Seche Vite top coat to seal it in and also kind of Magnify the pictures a bit! What do you guys think?  Which one is your favorite?
Thanks for reading and Happy Holidays!

There's NOTHING wrong with a little...experimenting!

Hey friends!  I have always been a fan of mixing colors to make my own new, custom colors. In the nail polish world its called a Franken (which I think is pretty freaking cool lol!) Now, keep an open mind when mixing...they can't all be gems. Sometimes the color isn't what you expect, sometimes different nail polish formulas don't mix well at all and the application of the "new" polish is crap even though the color looks fabulous in the bottle, you just never know until you put it on your nail. I guess thats just the way it goes...I usually mix with polish that I am running out of..especially If I like it enough to buy it again..its fun to see what you can make..for example...
I mixed Sally Hansen Celeb City//N.Y.C Skin Tight Denim Creme// Revlon Bewitching Bordeaux these mixed together make a nice shimmery dark purple with a brown undertone.

This was the final result! It's a little more brown then I like but I actually really like it on my nails..

The base was an almost empty bottle of Seche Vite top coat...well, almost empty to me is a third left in the bottle ha ha. All you polish junkies know there is NOTHING like a fresh bottle of Seche Vite *sigh*.  Also, since I did use Seche Vite as the base it dries SUPER FAST!

I might need to do a bit more tweaking to get the color Perfect...but the applications was GREAT! I used two coats but I honestly think one would have been enough. What do you lovelies think of this color? Would you wear it? How would you change it?

All in all I am pleased with this Franken, I can't wait to see it in the Sunlight. I think that will be the deciding factor in whether or not I change the formula or not..Oh and I am still trying to come up with a name for this color...Any suggestions??

Plate Debate: Konad vs. Bundle Monster

Hey Loves! Just a post to discuss what the different types of plates have to offer. I started with the Konad plates so I think that makes me a bit more comfortable with them. The designs are bigger then the Bundle Monster plates and Honestly I'd rather have excess design on my cuticles that I can easily clean off, then have to do a partial design on the same nail.
my very first Konad plate...amazing..Quick tip for the Konad plates: these plates come with a backing on them..DO NOT peel it off...it's not a sticker..ha ha. I made that mistake. WHOOPS!

The Konad plate is a bit bigger and it has more weight to it..so that works for me. Now as far as the Bundle Monster plates..the price is UNBEATABLE! you get 21 plates for 18 bucks and that is a great deal, there are some fabulous designs. I am more of a full pattern kind of girl then a 1 random item type...and they have some nice patterns..Down side to the plates is they are smaller and thinner..so the edges are SHARP! I read up and did my research before I purchased mine and even after I ordered...I like to stalk my items and I get all exctied reading about them while they are on their way to me..I am a weirdo I know ha ha. Anyway, thank god I did my research because I could totally have seen myself getting a cut or two from these sharp plates. So what I did was I went to Lowe's Hardware store and purchased some plain white contact paper..I stuck it to the back side of each bundle monster plate and used an exact-o knife to cut it out. It added thickness to the plate so it seems more durable and it's alot safer to Handle so NO CUTS! yay!
The Hounds tooth Pattern is one of my FAVORITES! I use it All the time. Quick tip for the Bundle Monster plates: these plates come with a thin layer of plastic over the design..you DO want to peel this off but BE CAREFUL! the edges are EXTREMELY SHARP...No Joke loves!  I used tweezers for mine.
The prices on the Konad plates are about 6-7 dollars a plate if you purchase on-line. I have seen kiosks in the mall that have the plates and stamping kits and the prices are RIDICULOUS!! 10-12 dollars PER PLATE...no thank you...I am perfectly fine ordering online for lots cheaper and waiting impatiently for the plates to arrive. Momma didn't raise no fool loves!  Now as far as how the plates work I can get the same crisp clean stamps with either plate..it is definitely something that I had to practice though. The Bundle Monster plates were a bit harder to get used to but I have it pretty much down packed and I will being doing a video on how I do my stamping in the very near future.
As far as preference I do prefer the Konad plates because the designs are bigger and I believe that they are just a bit deeper so you get better transfer on to your stamp. I don't regret buying the Bundle Monster plates though, I use them a lot.
Side by Side..Left Konad Plate M57 Right Bundle Monster Plate  BM19..You can tell the Konad designs are wide..If you have a smaller nail bed then the Bundles monster plates should just perfect :)

I got this cute little Photo Album from target to Hold my plates, you've definitely got to take good care of them because if they bend even just a bit you're screwed.

I purchased my Bundle Monster Plates here : Buy Bundle Monster

Super Swirls!

I did this Manicure with the Swirl design on the Bundle Monster Plate 'BM19'.  It was my very first time using this design because I honestly wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but now that I tried it I like it. It was an easy transfer also....from plate to stamp to nail..I got a nice clean stamp each time.
I started off  sandwiching China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top coat and China Glaze Tinsel ..I did WHTC and then Tinsel and then WHTC
Looked a little something like this...
Pretty and sparkly..I like to just have my nails like this with no true color for them to take a break from  getting stained.

Using the Bundle Monster Pate 'BM19' I used N.Y.C Skin Tight Denim Cream Polish..to add my swirls. Don't think I'm a polish snob for not having this N.Y.C polish pictured the bottle is covered in  OPI Koala Berry because it broke R.I.P :(

Kinda funky....

What do you think?
