Blog Love: Blogs that Inspire!

Hello Ladies! I was recently inspired by a new blog that I discovered. Jane over at NAILSIDE is an absolute genius with tape! Not to mention custom painting and color combinations. I absolutely fell in love with her blog and she is nice enough to have detailed tutorials with very clear pictures and instructions.

I tried to recreate her 'Explosion Manicure' which is just about one of the coolest things I have seen on nails in a long time, but my tape placement was off. I still really liked how it turned out though, I just probably should have started with the 'Lightening Bolt French'. (it involves less tape)

If you aren't following Nailside go follow now! Now, check out my attempt at the Explosion Design. I hope you like!

Base coat is two coats of China Glaze 'Traffic Jam'
Black is Orly 'Matte Vinyl'
Holographic is Color Club 'Worth the Risque'

Not too bad for a first time with this design. This manicure took me a while but next time I am going to cut the triangles before hand and really try and perfect the tape placement. Practice makes perfect!

China Glaze Traffic Jam from the Metro Collection. This was part of the 'Uptown'. This color is FANTASTIC! A beautiful Berry creme. LOVE!

Thank you all for reading!

Peace, love and PRACTICE!

DIY Inspiration Board!

Hey Friends! This is a NON Makeup/Polish post but still a fun one. I wanted to make an inspiration board for makeup looks lists and other things but I didn't want it to be all boring so I decided to make one with my own twist. Check it out!

What you need

Cork Board I got a Magnetized one it is 17in X 17in
One Yard of Fabric (this of course will change depending on the size of your board.)
Scissors
Staple Gun
A steady hand hahaha

I got this from Joannes for about 8 bucks.

Cut out the Fabric to for the Cork Board leaving extra around the edges to be able to fold back and staple to the wood. You want to make sure that the fabric isn't loose on the board. The Magnets won't work if it isn't taut.

The Back

Get the corners neat! This was kind of like wrapping a present.

VOILA!

Here is the finished product. I am very happy with it. This was a fun and VERY easy project!
Thanks for reading! oh and only ONE MORE DAY to enter my giveaway!

Peace, Love and Projects!

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Eyeliner Review/Swatch

Hey Loverlies!!
I was picking up a few things at Sephora the other day and came across the new Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners and they are amazing! I initially only purchased one but after testing them out during lunch at the Yard House (yes at the table playing with Makeup how RUDE!) I went back and bought two more!

Siren-Teal with Teal Micro Glitter..this is the one I fell in love with
Revolver- Dark Silver with beautiful micro glitter
Retrograde- Gorgeous Regal Dark Purple with lots of sparkle

The liners DO NOT BUDGE. I tried rubbing them off with my finger and water nothing...Above is a pic before rubbing back and forth and every which way..

After...AMAZING! I MUST get the Black one! (and the 2 blue ones and the HOT pink one..I am hooked)

The tip is so precise you can get some major clean lines with this tip.

I have been practicing my wing a lot lately and it was so easy with this liner. I think it would be great for someone just starting out in makeup or someone not used to doing a wing.

PROS
Beautiful color Payoff
Lasting Power (they really are waterproof!)
Smooth, precise application

CONS:
I thought that the side with the writing on the barrel would have been the one with product but sadly it's not. I wish there was more product in here for the  price. These are 18$  each and you get 1.7ml of product.
That is really the only con that I have though. I LOVE these and highly recommend them! I hope it is a product that is in their permanent line because they are great.

Pick up these beautiful gems at Sephora.com or  UrbanDecay.com

Thank you for reading and following if you have!

A Flakey Apocalypse...

Hi Everyone!
I was  eyeing the prizes in my giveaway and I found myself staring at the NUBAR 2010 Flakey polish for a bit too long. It is so pretty I just had to dive into my collection and get out my bottle to put it on my nails!  I had on Urban Decay Apocalypse and I added one coat of 2010. Check out the pictures..I really wish the camera did this effect justice. It is SO much better in person.

flash...so sexy!

No flash
Look at how freakin cool! This is just one coat of the Nubar 2010 over one coat of Urban Decays Apocalypse, a dark vampy purple creme. Reminded me a lot of VIII from China Glaze.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Beta Nail Polish

Hey friends! Check out Beta, a neon orange polish from OCC. This is my first polish of theirs and I am very impressed. The colors is Amazing! I applied two coats, it dries kind of matte but that didn't bother me since I always add a top coat for shine.

I scooped this baby up from IMATS LA for 5$ but I think they are available from the website for 8$ each.
Check out their website to pick up this Bright Beauty or any  of their other amazing products!

I can't stop looking at my nails..this color is so bright and pretty..and I got a bit of a tan going on so I am really feeling it with my darker skin tone. Beta is a keeper for sure!

Going Green...Nail Fail.

Gussied Up Green that is. This green beauty is amazing..it's got  flecks of gold shimmer through out, it's gorgeous in the sunlight and has become one of my favorite greens. I didn't even know I had this but I was dusting and shaking polishes the other day and stumbled upon this one in my collection. I love when that happens! ;)

It's so pretty. I really like this dark green with my short nails.

China Glaze Gussied Up Green...Two Coats

And then I ruined it..this was a nail fail for sure. Some polishes are meant to be left alone and I think this one is one of them. I added  Worth The Risque by Color Club which is one of the best holo's out there, unfortunately it doesn't mix too well with the green. Meh.

Bundle Monster Plate BM-208 for the design.

Thanks for reading!

Colorful Leopard...Recycled Manicure

Hey lovlies! I decided to recycle the colorful sponge mani I did the other day. It was too pretty to get rid of. My wild side came out and I decided to bust out my Konad M57 plate and stamp on some leopard print.

Orly Matte Vinyl for the stamp...as usual. One Coat of Seche Vite on top to seal everything and add shine. I sure do love the leopard print design, I will forever use this design.

So pretty....I will be trying more color combinations and patterns on my sponge manicures. They are so easy and the possibilities are endless!

I got sooo many compliments on this manicure, everyone thought it was a decal though ha ha. It is so hard explaining the whole process to anyone that isn't into the whole nail scene. If you do nail stamping, how do you explain to people how it is done? I need an easier way :) Anyway Thank you so much for reading! Have a great day friends!

P.S. Incase anyone was wondering I am holding Electric Pineapple from China Glaze....it's basically my go to green.

Colorful Sponge Manicure

Hello friends! Check out this sponge manicure I did. It had been a long time since I did a spongee manicure and I have never done one with so many colors. I love it! I went through my collection and picked a bunch of colors I thought would look pretty together.
I used Finger Paints Papier Mache for the white base, then using these eyeshadow sponges that I bought from Walgreens for like 3 dollars. I randomly dabbed on the color. Something I have learned with doing these sponge manicures is after you put the polish on the sponge let it sit for a minute so it gets a bit tacky, then dab on your color. The sponge effect will show up much better.

Senorita Bonita in my hand. I love this Purple!

The sponge manicure is such an easy way to get creative with your nail art!

All polishes used from L-R
Shower Together, SeƱorita Bonita, Four LeafClover, Electric Pineapple, Rich & Famous, Custom Kicks

My work area...not as messy as I thought it was going to be haha.
I hope you guys enjoyed this bright fun manicure! I also want to take a minute to thank you all for following and if you have entered my give away THANK YOU so much!! I really appreciate all of my  followers and the comments you leave. You guys are awesome! If you have not entered you can enter here My Giveaway!

Fun Tips!

Hello friends! I was recently playing around with some polish and came up with this fun french manicure. I rarely just focus on my tips but my nails are getting long enough to play around and experiment with manicures like this. I hope you like it.

Kind of Cheetara-esque don't ya think? hahaha That was NOT my intention and I didn't realize that until after.

China Glaze Hope Chest...Migi Nail Art Pen in Black...China Glaze Happy Go Lucky

I  painted the yellow on free hand, I may pick up some of the french manicure stickers to use as a guide next time so it will be more even.

Just the tip. ha!

What do you think? I can't wait to try more color combinations and designs. What do you guys have in mind? Any cool suggestions for a fun french Manicure? Let me know! Thank you for reading and I hope you all have a great weekend!
